If you drink alcohol – stop. Not only does this promote the development of high uric acid in the blood, it affects the liver, heart and kidneys, even raising blood pressure in many people. If you are on a thiazide diuretic for any condition, ask your doc to substitute or take you off of it, esp if you are using it for blood pressure control. |
