Is Carvedilol Good for High Blood Pressure

Genivieve	My cardiologist switched me from atenolol to carvedilol because I have congestive heart failure, and I’ve noticed that my BP has gone up quite a bit. Is carvedilol a very good blood pressure medication? He told me that the carvedilol would work equally well for my blood pressure, but so far that does not seem to be the case. What’s up?

Edmund	My mother had the exact same referral (atenolol to carvedilol)from her cardiologist after experiencing a prolonged arrhythmia (tachycardia) and her BP has increased as well. Any answers out there?
