Neupogen has been a wonder drug for me. I seem really sensitive to the neutropenia from chemo, every type so far, and have spent so many days at ERs and hospitals with fever, infection, and IV antibiotics that I have to take neupogen every cycle. The side effects of neupogen though are tough too, and the cost is formidable. I have to pay a 20% copay and that’s lots. |

Check with Neupogen directly. They probably have a patient assistance program. Their web site is being updated right now (3:20 January 17) so can’t give you contact info, but do a search for “Neupogen patient assistance” and you will come up several ways to maybe cut the cost. Also, the cost seems to vary from home injection, to doctor office, to hospital. See which one works best for you. |
