I was wondering if there have been any studies about dreams encountered while taking morphine. I have been experiencing live-action dreams with animation. Am I going nuts or is this normal? |

I get wired and can’t sleep.?? Then when I do all my dreams are so real, like once someone scratch my face and it felt so real, makes me jumpy at night. I can only take it in morning, giving me energy and not hungry. Hmm. |

Sleep is definitely different when you are taking opioids like morphine. Dreams can be vivid, absent, terrifying, or just wierd. I often have to calm patients down when they wake up on a morphine drip and reassure them that they are OK. |

For me no dreams at all, I sleep like the dead on morphine. I have been told that dreams are an important part of restful sleep, and I have to say besides sleeping at night, I feel like I could sleep all day to on this drug. Too bad my L4-5 and L5-S1 discs are crap, and the pain is intolerable. The MS Contin is the best I’ve found so far to give a little break from the chronic misery. I guess dreams are a think in my past. |
