I suffer from chronic sinusitis as well. I also suffer the sinus migraines terribly. I went to the doctor last week for sinus infection and was given an antibiotic. About three days in the headaches got worse and had swelling around my eye and cheekbone area. I remembered I had some grapefruit seed extract and I added a few drops in with the neil med sinus rinse. About an hour after I did the first rinse yesterday my headache was almost gone. After the second rinse it was gone and the swelling had gone down. Today I am headache free and the swelling has reduced even more. I went back to the doctor today to discuss that I am having all the swelling, that I felt the antibiotic actually made it worse and I believe mine are related to some sort of fungal/yeast infection. Problem is nasal swabs don’t tell much if they are and he hadn’t had much research on the subject so wasn’t sure how one would treat it. So for now he put me on prednisone, continue the antibiotic and the grapefruit seed extract with the sinus rinse. I can tell you that I have tried EVERYTHING. Used Mucinex D, ibuprofen, stood in the shower under hot water, hung my head over the humidifier, put ice on my face and daily take allegra, used nasal spray, etc. The best I have found so far is using the GSE in the sinus rinse. I would give it a try. It’s a natural (if you can technically call it that) anti-fungal, antibiotic. You can buy it at any health food store but after a lot of research I had ordered mine online and went with the Nutribiotic brand. I hope this helps you some if you decide to give it a try. Just be sure to only use a few drops because if you get too much it can burn. Ive read that you have to use it for at least 30 days to be sure you kill any bacteria or fungus. I rinsed three times yesterday and only once so far today. I had faster results this morning. Good luck and hope you all feel better soon. |
