In taking this medication, I note that it causes a hangover in the AM
as well as stomach upsets. The product also causes only 1 bowel movement
every 3-4 days whereas I used to have a movement daily!

I have recently had headaches from the medication Tramadol taking it
3 times daily, 50 Mg.

Just drink lots of water! You may experience a constant thirst like i do, but I just drink lots of water all day & no problem at all.

Movicol is the answer..!! This powder form laxative is fantastic and should be used once daily between medications. If you are still constipated or seriously impacted take one every hour or so(up to 8 in one day ONLY) and this will help.
I have recently 12/02/2012 suffered chronic constipation again and was suicidal with extreme pain, Movicol helped within 4 hours, however, I have suffered for 5 days previously and had to use an enima too because I wasn’t using this laxitive daily.
Don’t let yourself get this way, take a Movicol once a day or if nessesary, more, but don’t go more than 2 days without passing a stool. Use the Movicol to periodically throughout the day to get the best effect on disolving an impacted (rock hard) stool.
Trust me it works, just catch it early, use it daily (once between Meds), if that does’nt work take a total of 8 in about 6 hours, that’ll help move anything.
The way it works: more water is passed into the tract involved in this area, the stool being so dry, soaks up the water and makes it movable so it can twist and turn rather than get stuck.
Best of luck

Once it has become plyable a little encouragement towards the exit route with create a point for the stool to follow, dont push!!!! allow the Movicol to work, it will liquidize the stool enough to pass a four footer…… Beat that!!!!
It isn’t comfortable I know, but suffering pain without Medication is wrong, Try it, its on prescription in the UK.
Best of luck

You will know when it wants to come out….you’ll just know, and then a little more encouragement and the whole lot will follow.

One last tip, when constipated relax your bowl and concentrate on that area, (between screams) allow for a point to develope at the exit beggining of the exit route, wait a while concentrating on staying calm and relaxed in that area, the point will develope and begin to move down the exit route as the stool becomes more liquified. Thats when you may feel like urinating and you may be ready to expel the stool. Stay calm and relax, use your inner muscle to shape the stool as the plug end moves in. Then you’ll feel pressure behind it and it will emerge and be gone forever.
Please try it. I know how you feel. It works, don’t rely on water alone.
